What is the best way to balance the mind? The second part of the four happy parts we are discussing is the mind. How do we keep our minds active and healthy? Well, everyone has their own ways to take time for themselves, to recharge their bodies. Physical activity gives you energy, try transferring some of that to help balance our minds! They say the mind is a terrible thing to waste! Luckily, I’ve found four helpful ways to keep your mind active if you need a few pointers!
The More You Read, The More You Know
Oh, I love a good book to read. I just finished a book, it only took me three days. I get reading I have a hard time putting it down. You can challenge yourself to read at least 30 minutes a day. It’s so good for your brain! This is a great habit to start around your children also. If they see you reading, they are more likely to pick up a book. You could start a family reading time each night, or a few times a week. Your brain will love all the information your giving it. Keep it active!
Learn New Things
Make an ongoing list of things you want to learn. Off the top of my head I know I want to learn sign language (not just the alphabet – haha) and how to play the piano. Pick something and learn it! By giving your mind something new to learn, you are making your mind stronger. Absorbing new information will keep your mind active. Challenging your mind is a great way to educate it. Try brain games and puzzles to challenge yourself and sharpen your skills.
Journaling or Story Writing
Writing is a magnificent way to balance your mind. You could start a journal and write down your thoughts and ideas. I like to journal about quotes that I’ve found, song lyrics and memorable moments. If you’ve got story ideas, try writing a short story. Using your mind and working your brain to create different storylines, will definitely help you sharpen the saw. Try translating a few sentences in a different language for a challenge! Wow, that would be a great challenge for your mind.
